Many layers and details reveal themselves only through extended viewing. Two deliberately placed copper points, the 'Two Tears', represent emotional traces.

BELOW THE SURFACE explores the feeling of depression: being pushed beneath a wave, losing all sense of direction and no longer knowing which way is up. The work is about continuing to swim, refusing to give up and searching for the surface.
